About me
J Palmeri is Professor of English and Director of the Writing Program at Georgetown. They are the author of two books about the technologically mediated history of writing and literacy instruction: Remixing Composition: A History of Multimodal Writing Pedagogy (2012) and 100 Years of New Media Pedagogy (2023). Palmeri regularly teaches first-year writing and culture seminars, an undergraduate core course in LGBTQ Young Adult Literature and Literacy, and a graduate seminar in the teaching of writing. Palmeri is available to consult with faculty and departments on all Georgetown campuses about ways they might integrate writing, speaking, and multimodal composing into their courses – including ways they might engage critically and ethically with GenAI.
