Dr. Karen Kitching is a Teaching Professor of Accounting at the McDonough School of Business. A Certified Public Accountant, she focuses on experiential teaching approaches that integrate data analytics, technology, and real-world problem solving into accounting education. Her work emphasizes helping students develop the analytical and digital skills needed in modern business environments through hands-on learning and applied projects.Dr. Kitching also organizes Georgetown’s annual Datathon, a university-wide competition in which interdisciplinary student teams analyze complex datasets and present data-driven insights. Her teaching innovations and contributions to accounting education have been recognized with national teaching awards.
