Graduate Student (Georgetown School of Continuing Studies Master's in Applied Intelligence Program)
About me
Yanice is a Navy veteran with eight years of service, including three years working in military law enforcement at the Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar. Throughout her time in the military, she also took on a collateral duty as a Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Victim Advocate, where she worked with multidisciplinary teams to support survivors, coordinate resources, and handle sensitive case information with discretion and care. She pursued a Master's in Applied Intelligence at Georgetown University to formalize the analytical instincts she developed through both law enforcement and advocacy work, learning how to assess threats, evaluate sources, and produce actionable intelligence in high-stakes environments. While completing her degree, she worked part-time with the DC Rape Crisis Center as part of the crisis intervention team, where she continued developing skills in trauma-informed communication, rapid assessment, and working with individuals in vulnerable situations. She hopes to use what she learned in this program, alongside her military and advocacy experience, to transition into an intelligence role within the IC.
